Stainless Steel Round Bar Product Overview
1/8″ through 26″ Round Bar
Penn Stainless stocks a full range of stainless round bar from 1/16″ round thru 26″ in diameter. Nearly all grades of stainless steel are stocked in round bar, including 302, 303, 304/L, 309/S, 310/S, 316/L, 317/L, 321, 321/H, 347, 347H, 410, 416, 420, 440C, 17-4PH, Duplex 2205 and Alloy 20.
Heat treated stainless round bars are stocked in 17-4PH, conditions H900 (available upon request), H1025, H1150 and Double H1150 and H1150M. Additional heat treated conditions can be produced upon request. In 400 series stainless, we stock 410HT and 416HT. We also stock Accuracy and Bearing Quality stainless round bar in 303, 304 & 316/L.
Much of our inventory is available in our proprietary grade of machining bar: PennMet 2000. PennMet stainless rounds are melted to consistent standards to improve machinability and reduce the overall cost per part. Our stainless bar processing equipment enables Penn Stainless to produce to our customer’s precise requirements.
24″ & 26″ Diameter Round Bar
Large Diameter Round Bar Inventory
Penn Stainless has recently broadened our inventory to now include 24 inch and 26 inch diameter round bar in 304L and 316L. The materials are ultrasonic tested per ASTM A388. The expanded inventory makes Penn Stainless the only U.S. Stainless Service center stocking 22-inch, 24-inch and 26-inch diameter stainless steel bar in these alloys.

Heat Treating & Annealing
Penn Stainless Products can heat treat some 400 series stainless steel seamless tube. Heat treating realizes stress as a result of hardening, depending upon the chemistry of the metal being treated. Heat treating is also used for tempering, quenching, normalizing, and solution annealing.
Polishing
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
In some cases, it may be necessary to complete additional positive material identification testing. Penn Stainless Products can complete this testing in house or we can work with an independent laboratory to complete the testing. Please contact us for specific requirements.
UT Testing
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) utilizes sound energy at high frequencies, in order to provide examinations and measurements of the stainless steel product. This aids in flaw detection/evaluation, dimensional measurements, etc.
