Ornamental Round Tube
Penn Stainless stocks round ornamental tubing in a number of standard sizes in 304 and 316/316L that are well suited for structural and architectural applications such as stainless hand rails. Round tubing is stocked in standard mill finish, 180 Grit (#4 Polish), with availability in 240 Grit, 320 Grit and a #8 mirror finish.
Additional stainless finishes can be supplied and can be matched per customer sample.
All round ornamental tubing can be cut to exact specifications. For larger fabrications, Penn Stainless can supply rolled and welded tubing in excess of 24″ diameter. We recently supplied 6 pieces of tubing, 317/L grade, 21-1/4″ OD x .250 Wall x 78″ long. We can standardize your most challenging tubing requirements with short delivery schedules.

Miter Cutting
Miter cutting creates a joint by cutting two pieces at an angle and fitting them together. The cut is made at a precise angle. Penn Stainless Products can miter cut ornamental tubing to your specifications. Please contact a sales representative for more information.
Polishing
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
In some cases, it may be necessary to complete additional positive material identification testing. Penn Stainless Products can complete this testing in house or we can work with an independent laboratory to complete the testing. Please contact us for specific requirements.
UT Testing
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) utilizes sound energy at high frequencies, in order to provide examinations and measurements of the stainless steel product. This aids in flaw detection/evaluation, dimensional measurements, etc.
Tolerances
Diameter, Wall, and Ovality Tolerance – No Bead:
- Ovality is the difference between maximum and minimum outside diameters measured at any one cross section.There is no additional tolerance for Ovality on tubes having a nominal wall thickness of more then 3% of the outside diameter.
- An Ovality allowance of twice the outside diameter tolerance, shown in this table, is applied one half plus and one half minus to the outside diameter, for tubes having a nominal wall thickness of 3% or less of the specified outside diameter. The average of the maximum and minimum outside diameter readings should fall within the outside diameter tolerances of this table.
- Tubing may be specified to outside diameter and wall.
- Wall tolerance is +/- 10% of specified wall thickness.
